Americas Supermodel wins All American Quarter Horse Congress

The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Congress Open Reining Futurity on October 6 filled the stands with promises to watch some of the best 3-year-olds in the industry—and the show did not disappoint. Forty-five of the nation's top reiners competed for the highest honors throughout Saturday evening. 

As the highest paying NRHA Pre-Futurity, the Saturday night event garnered more than $140,000 in added money sponsored by the Friends of the Congress Reining.

Casey Dreary of Weatherford, Texas, dominated the Level 4 Futurity Finals Reining with Americas Supermodel as draw 35 earning $32,929.10 for his first place finish. Americas Supermodel is owned by Marie Whitmarsh. Dreary also snagged the second place honors with Gunnarickashay as draw 26.

Rounding out the top three was draw 29 Andrea Fappani and Money Carlo owned by C Ross Conner taking home $15,032.85.

In the level 3 Futurity Finals Gabriel Diano of Purcell, OK took home $12,398.38 for his first place finish atop Renda Gunna Shine owned by Maria Buey Arietti.

Francesco Martinotti took home runner up honors atop MMB Spook Gotta Girl owned by Giovanni Cioli.

Pierre-Luc Phaneuf of Pilot Point, Calif. rounded out the top three with Wranglin For Chicks owned by Bur Oak LLC.

Preliminaries for the event were held Wednesday, October 3 and finalists were invited to a draw party sponsored by NRHA on October 4.
