Pro Horsemen Perspective Live Series
The All American Quarter Horse Congress is teaming up with PulseVet to bring you the two-part Pro Horsemen Perspective Series and raise money for the crisis fund through the Ohio Quarter Horse Foundation. Make a donation to the crisis fund here.
In keeping with tradition, the Congress will host a live series onsite at the show, in addition to a virtual component.

Wednesday, October 2 @ 6:00PM Clayton Jerrell is located in Newburgh, Ind. where he and his wife, Carli, operate Jerrell Performance Horses. They specialize in ranch and all around events. Clayton grew up with Standardbred racehorses, which his father has trained for 45 years, and started showing AQHA in 2006, attending his first Congress as an exhibitor in 2008. Clayton is a World and Congress champion in Ranch Riding, as well as Reserve World Champion in Ranch Trail. Clayton holds a Category I NSBA judges card and is an AQHA Professional Horseman. |
Sunday, October 13 @ 4:00PM Alyse is honored to be an AQHA and APHA Professional Horsewoman, was a member of the 2023-24 NSBA Tomorrow’s Horsemen Program, multiple AQHA, APHA, NSBA, Premier Sires champion and Congress Reserve champion. Alyse says, "My customers have done me proud over the years with wins at all the major events and futurities such as the Congress, NSBA, APHA world shows and the Premier. I am proud to have bred and raised 2x AQHA Super Horse Winner Blue Kahlua as well as multiple AQHA, APHA, NSBA and Congress champions in the hunter under saddle, pleasure driving and over fence classes!" |
CANCELLED DUE TO SCHEDULING CONFLICT Tuesday, October 15 @ 2:00PM Lainie DeBoer has trained, owned, and shown Quarter Horses for over 33 years. With her clients, she has garnered over 65 AQHA and AQHYA World Championships and more than 85 Congress Championships in he Working Hunter, Equitation Over Fences, Congress Classic, Hunter Hack, and Working Hunter Under Saddle. Her accolades include multiple All Around and high point titles at prominent shows, including the Congress and World show. In recognition of her achievements, Lainie was named AQHA Professional Horsewoman of the Year in 2015. She serves as an AQHA Specialized Over Fence judge and contributes to the AQHA judges committee and Animal Welfare commission. Notably, Lainie has judged AQHYA and AQHA World shows multiple times and developed training materials for AQHA judges seminars. Her personal achievements make her the most decorated female AQHA open rider in World Show history, with 25 personal wins. |
Friday, October 18 @ 4:00PM Cooper Arena Developing & Presenting the Western Pleasure Horse presented by Jay & Kristy Starnes Jay & Kristy Starnes own and operate Starnes Quarter Horses LLC in Manning, S.C. Located on almost 60 acres, they specialize in breeding, training and showing top AQHA and NSBA western pleasure prospects. Over the past 20 years in business, they have accumulated numerous Congress and World Championships, as well as both being named into the NSBA $250,000 Rider Club. In addition, Jay Starnes is the first exhibitor to have reached over $1,000,000 in Western Pleasure earnings (based on Equistat) and one of only 3 exhibitors to have earned $1,000,000 in NSBA Lifetime Earnings. Their son, Logan Starnes, is also a multiple Congress and World Champion western pleasure rider at the age of 14. |
Saturday, October 26 @ 12:00PM Cooper Arena Improving Your Barrel Racing Times presented by Valerie & Jason Kiphart Jason and Valerie Kiphart are from southwestern Ohio. They, along with their children, Payton, Piper, and Oaklen, breed, raise, and train barrel racing horses. Their breeding program has produced greats such as The Kandyman (nations leading junior sire 2021), Seis Shots of Crown (LTE 150k+, 2x. Congress champion, Pink Buckle round winner), and Guys on Firewater (NBHA world champion, Ruby Buckle round winner), and Keltic Kandy (NBHA youth world go round winner). Valerie is a World and Reserve World Champion, Congress Champion, and Best of the Best slot race champion. Jason holds arena records, slot race champion, and multiple open wins. Their daughters have a combined 5x Congress Champions, 2x Reserve Champions, NBHA youth world go round win, and numerous open wins. We love teaching the mechanics of proper body positioning of the horse and rider to make the quickest, most powerful moves around a barrel, as well as the lines between. We work a lot on brokeness of the face and having all over body control of the horse. |
